Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Where is the event being held?
A. The Gala will be held at The Fairmont Washington, DC Hotel, located at 2401 M. Street, NW, Washington, DC. You will see signage at the hotel directing you to the event. Doors will open at 7:00pm to the General Public.
Q. Is parking available?
A. There will be very limited parking, for a fee, at the hotel. We highly encourage all of our guests to take Metro or car/cab services. The Metro will be open until midnight, although we are waiting for authorities to extend the times, in order for everyone to return after the event has ended.
Q. What is included with my Gala ticket?
A. Tickets to the event include continuous appetizers, open bars all evening, and continuous music & dancing beginning at 7:00p.m. until midnight. It begins with a reception featuring: a souvenir photograph, a tasting room, game room, and silent auction. The evening continues with carving stations, tapas areas, sweets and beverages and rounds out with the roaming patisserie and music by Sound Nation.
Q. What is the attire?
A. Gala attire is black tie; tuxedos for men and evening gowns for women.
Q. What if I buy a ticket and need to cancel?
A. All tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable.
Q. Once I send in a check, how do I know I will get a ticket?
A. Your cancelled check will be your receipt. Tickets will be mailed January 5, 2013, to the address listed on your order.
Q. Can I get on a waiting list for additional tickets?
A. As tickets are non-refundable, we will not be keeping a waiting list. Tickets sales are limited and we anticipate selling out early. Please note, selling out early has been a tradition for Galas in the past.
Q. How/when will I receive my tickets?
A. Tickets will be mailed January 5, 2013, to the address listed on your order. Tickets cannot be mailed to a post office box.
Q. Is there a place I can pick up the tickets I ordered?
A. No – there will be no “Will Call” at the Hotel the evening of the Gala. As we expect tickets will be sold out and mailed the first week of January, we do not anticipate needing a location at the hotel to pick-up your tickets. If this changes, we will post this information on the Website.
Q. Do I need to be a member of the Society to attend the Gala?
A. Actually, the ticket price includes a 1-year membership to the Delaware State society. Your membership will allow you to receive advance notice of future events within the State Society.
Q. Can you help me with tickets for other Inaugural events?
A. No, the Societies are not associated with other Presidential Inaugural activities.

Hotel space is limited in Washington, DC for the Inauguration BUT Delaware State Society has hotel rooms available at the Avenue Hotel of Georgetown 2500 PA Ave NW. 3 night stay, one bedroom suite (King room with Queen pull out and full kitchen) @ a rate of $399.00 per night.
